DeAndre Jasper

One of the top wide-out in Dade-County has yet to receive and offer from Al Golden . DeAndre Jasper's mom (a big canes fan) would love to see DeAndre Jasper pick up and offer from the Hurricanes . Jasper also a friend of Thomas Finnie first year Canes corner-back, who's confident the young wide-out will become a Canes sooner or later...

4 Star Ricardo Louis Qb at Miami Beach High School committed
to Auburn today.Ricardo was  recruited  as a CB/S by Golden .
Auburn  promise Louis a shot at wide-out ..

Forcier: Miami too far away

CORAL GABLES — I always respect people when they say they’re making a decision for “personal reasons.”

They have no obligation to justify to me, or you, or anyone why they choose to do something.

So I didn’t have a problem with Tate Forcier telling the University of Miami he wasn’t transferring to UM after all — despite signing a financial aid agreement in February and publicly announcing his transfer — because of personal reasons.

But I do have a problem Forcier trying to get us to buy a lie.

Tuesday, he told ESPN he decided not to transfer to Miami because, “I just didn’t feel comfortable and wanted to be closer to home. Miami is completely on the other side of the country.”

He also said, “It would have been fun playing there. But I just wanted to be closer so my parents can afford to come to the games.”

At the same time, he told ESPN he’s now interested in Auburn, USC, San Diego State, Montana, Kansas State and San Diego.

Oops.

Auburn isn’t exactly close to his hometown of San Diego, nor is it an easy or inexpensive trip from the West Coast. Try finding a hotel one game weekend anywhere near Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Furthermore, Forcier had no issues with playing far away from home when he was at Michigan for two years. The distance was just fine when he was the starter and Denard Robinson hadn’t yet outworked him for the job.

It’s interesting that Forcier became homesick when he hasn’t stepped on Miami’s campus since his first and only visit here in February, at which time he decided to become a Hurricane.

I’m more inclined to believe the reason Forcier isn’t coming to Miami has to do with academics since he was academically ineligible for Michigan’s bowl game.

Whatever his reasons, they didn’t matter. Until he lied.

  • Class:2013

It might be early, but that's not likely going to make any

difference for lifelong Miami Hurricanes' fan Levonte

'Kermit' Whitfield, who committed to the 'U' for the 2013

 recruiting class.

"He was grinning from ear to ear like a kid at Christmas,"

Jones football coach Kenard Lang said.

"Feels good," said Whitfield, who was getting ready for the

Tigers' spring game Friday night at Orlando Oak Ridge

. "My top two were the U and Florida State, and Miami is my

 favorite school."

He also said he wasn't sure why he committed on this

particular day, but that he just "kinda felt like it."

Whitfield informed Lang, a former Miami Hurricane himself, of

his intentions Friday morning, and then he called

UM coach Al Golden with his commitment.

"Yeah, it's early, but Kermit told me of his intentions when he

first got here as a freshman. That's his dream

school," Lang said. "He's always had a Miami hat on at track

meets and he's always throwin' up the 'U' sign

.

We got NEXT.........

Watch-out for Baltimore (MD) Gilman High School WR/CB Cyrus Jones...

• Tight end Andrew Tallman will be the sixth UM player to transfer, but Golden does not expect any others. Of the six, only Johnson and to a much lesser extent, linebacker Travis Williams, were expected to be factors this season.
